With its stately, majestic appearance you would be forgiven for not realising that under the exceptionally sculpted bonnet lies sheer brute chaos and terrorising power. The XJR variant of Jaguar’s X350 is probably best described as a luxurious lunacy with a touch of class. It’s an extraordinary car, equipped with a thunderous 4.2L V8 engine and whining supercharger that provides monstrous performance, as well as a sensational soundtrack, but best of all of that carnage is encased in mature styling and sophisticated comfort.
With a no expense spared life, this 2003 XJR is presented exceptionally well. Finished in the stunning Emerald Green with an Oatmeal interior, the car has been used daily by the current owner, completing hundreds of miles without issue. Accompanied by pages and pages of maintenance history, this incredible car has been kept meticulously maintained, a summary of its works can be seen, with numerous additional invoices and receipts also present.
Exterior
Finished in the beautiful Emerald Green Metallic, the condition of this XJR is very good with only the most minor blemishes present. Maturely styled, it impresses subtly with the slightest indicators of its raging capabilities dotted around the car in the form of huge brake discs and callipers and the occasional XJR badge. Its massive 20-inch BBS alloys appear to be free from any marks and help give the car a slightly more aggressive appearance. There are a couple imperfections to the rear window trim and rear bumper moulding and a small mark on the lower part of the drivers door but otherwise, considering the car has done 141,000 miles, it’s in fantastic condition.
Mechanics
The car’s insane performance is without question one of the biggest draws. A 4.2L V8 provides neck-breaking acceleration supported by an intimidating whine from the supercharger. With
self-levelling suspension controlled by airbags, the comfort of the car is just as impressive as its engineering. It was era-advanced, with many critics reviewing it as one of the most comfortable and advanced cars in its class. During our visit we were able to start and manoeuvre the vehicle multiple times without fuss, the superb soundtrack of the V8 and twin exit exhausts very much encouraged a heavy right foot, bellowing and thundering as it gained speed. The whine of the supercharger brings a smile to the face too, it’s really hard to drive this car slowly.
Interior
Oatmeal leather and Figured Walnut Veneer welcome you as you enter the saloon, elegantly styled and trimmed seats provide exceptional comfort with plenty of legroom for front and rear occupants. Extensively equipped with dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, navigation, cruise control and more, whatever journey is required you’ll feel at ease behind the wheel.
Condition-wise, superb, with only slight signs of use. Leather, carpet and veneer are all exceptional, remarkable considering the mileage.
