Vehicle History

Overall condition: Excellent
Restored?: Yes
History: Part service & maintenance history
MOT: Now exempt

Produced between 1968 and 1986, the Capri is one of Ford’s all-time most successful vehicles, with just shy of 2 million units produced. Designed by Phillip T. Clarke following his involvement with the design of the Mustang, the Capri was indeed intended to be the European equivalent of the iconic fastback.

Throughout the Capri’s impressive production run, plenty of variants, designs, and drivetrain configurations were available. This, of course, is a Capri 3000E, which belongs to the ever-so-desirable first generation. The 3000E boasts the highly sought-after 3L Essex V6 and was produced to meet the demand for a more luxurious interior.

Today, this Capri 3000E stands as a fantastic example of some of Ford’s absolute finest work. The vehicle has been extensively restored in the past, and now presents itself in superb condition both inside and out. With prices for these rare fastbacks constantly on the rise, this is a truly fantastic opportunity to add an appreciating vehicle to your collection.

Exterior

● Previously restored
● Superb condition
● 13” Rostyle wheels

Originally finished in Fern Green, this Capri has been through a very thorough restoration, and now sports a beautiful coat of white. The crisp paintwork shows no noticeable defects and suits the sporty lines of this fastback brilliantly.

Complementing the fresh paintwork is a matching set of 13” Rostyle wheels. The wheels present themselves in excellent condition with only a few minor blemishes, particularly towards the lips. As an added bonus, the wheels come wrapped in a matching set of Pirelli tyres, with plenty of tread left to enjoy.

Mechanics

● 3L Essex V6
● Automatic transmission
● Dozens of new/refurbished parts
● Runs and drives without fault

Buyers will be pleased to know that this gorgeous Capri fires up right away, and performs without fault. The vehicle benefits from a thorough mechanical overhaul as part of its previous restoration, subsequently receiving a huge array of new and refurbished parts.

A great deal of the maintenance and repairs prior to the vehicle’s restoration have also been documented within the included paperwork. Invoices from the likes of 2010, and 2011 detail new rear wheel cylinders and a new water pump respectively.

Interior

● Partially re-trimmed
● Original 3-spoke steering wheel
● Great condition with plenty of character

The interior of this Capri is like stepping back in time. Passengers are treated to a very tidy interior that benefits from previous retrimming, along with the interior upgrades that set the 3000E aside from the rest.

As the images reflect, the interior is in fantastic condition for its age. Whilst components like the seats have indeed received their fair share of TLC as part of the restoration, plenty of original components remain. A prime example of this is the original 3-spoke leather steering wheel which whilst showing its age, only adds to the overall character and charm of this retro beauty.
